What a snore guard does
A snore guard is a custom oral device worn at night. By supporting the jaw and tongue position, it can help reduce the vibration that causes snoring in many patients.
Persistent, loud snoring can sometimes be linked to sleep apnea. If we suspect a sleep-related breathing disorder, we will discuss appropriate next steps, including referral for medical evaluation when needed.
Custom vs over-the-counter
Custom snore guards are fitted to your bite for better comfort and stability than generic boil-and-bite options. A proper fit improves wearability and reduces the chance of the device shifting overnight.
Getting started
We start with an assessment of your teeth, bite, and symptoms. If a snore guard is appropriate, we take records for fabrication and schedule a delivery and adjustment visit.
