Sleep Apnea & Snoring
Oral Appliance Therapy
A custom-fitted oral appliance that supports the jaw in a position that can help keep the airway more open during sleep.
How oral appliance therapy works
For some patients with snoring or obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance worn during sleep can help maintain a more open airway by gently advancing the lower jaw.
Oral appliances are not a substitute for a medical diagnosis. We coordinate care with your physician or sleep specialist when appliance therapy is appropriate.
Who may be a candidate
Candidates are typically adults with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, or patients who cannot tolerate CPAP and have been advised that an oral appliance may be suitable. A sleep study and medical guidance usually guide next steps.
Custom fit and follow-up
Appliances are made from impressions or scans of your teeth for a precise fit. Follow-up visits allow us to adjust comfort and check how the appliance is working with your overall care plan.
